How Aikan works!

Effective waste management of bio waste, green waste, sewage sludge, leftovers from food production or super markets and other organic wastes mean: energy recovery, sanitary compost production and reliable and robust practical handling.

This is what the Aikan two-phase technology synthesizes in an innovative new and easy-to-understand way.

The Aikan biogas & compost facility provides a batch-wise treatment of organic solid waste and a continuous treatment of fluids.

The basis is the two-phase treatment:

• Solid waste is pre-sorted and mixed before it enters into the completely closed process modules where anaerobic digestion followed by composting transforms the materials into biogas and sanitized compost.
• Waste fluids are from a pre-treatment tank fed continuously to the reactor tanks to produce biogas and continuously, it is fed back to the process modules to be used for composting or be enriched with biogas feedstuff.

After processing compost is refined and marketed as a variety of compost products and growing media.

The Aikan thus close the organic loop and provides a good step-wise way to improve the waste management system step-wise by producing compost and biogas.
