Solum Gruppen comprises a range of companies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The name "Solum Gruppen" is the collective term for all these companies. The parent company is Solum A/S (ltd.).
Solum A/S develops processes and produces compost according to the mattress principle, which ensures uniform quality and maturity of growing media, markets growing media for landscape garden and ground maintenance purposes and offers specialised products and care services for grass-covered areas.
Solum A/S also develops, constructs and runs biological treatment plants and carries out research in the areas of microbiology and soil science.
BioVækst A/S owns and operates the combined biogas and composting plant near Holbæk. By June 2004, Biovækst was handling organic household refuse from 18 municipalities across Zealand, the largest island in Denmark. Biovækst AS is jointly owned with I/S Noveren and I/S Vestforbrænding
Norsk Jordforbedring AS develops and sells defined top soil mixes and growing media to the business-to-business and leisure markets in Norway. The company handles and refines organic waste from municipalities and industry.
Store Hede Compost Center A/S is a large composting plant for garden and park waste near Roskilde. The site is environmentally certified to handle an intake of 65,000 tonnes per year.
Store Hede Compost Center AS was founded in the year 2000 and is owned jointly with I/S KARA. The running of the site is managed by Solum AS.
Nomi Vækst A/S near Holstebro is currently being established. The company handles the composting of garden and park waste for the municipalities of Struer, Holsterbro and Vinderup. The company is jointly owned with Nomi I/S.
